Han Solo and Chewbacca really want you to have a well-supported neck while you sleep. Make this Millennium Falcon to travel in Star Wars style!

It's easy to make, plus it's fun! Just follow the instructions below!

What You Need:

  • Neck rest
  • Blue and black felt
  • XXL white T-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins
  • Sewing needle
  • White and dark/colored thread
  • Fabric glue
  • Tiny LEGO Chewie (optional)

Instructions:

1. This is an easy craft because all you need to do is make a new cover for those neck rests that are for sale in the store. You can make your own neck rest if you want to be super crafty. But it's easier to get one and then recover it. The white T-shirt is for the fabric. So if you have an old one you don't wear you can reuse it for this craft. The felt is to decorate the Falcon's many details.

2. Cover the neck rest with the t-shirt, cut around it and pin it together.

3. Sew the fabric together and cut off the excess fabric.

4. Use a reference picture of the Falcon to help you decide how many felt details you want to make. This one is a transparency from the book You Can Draw: Star Wars.

5. Cut out thin lines, squares and circles from the black felt to add details to the Falcon. You can either sew them on or use fabric glue to secure them. Also cut out a thick blue rectangle for the back light which you will sew on later.

6. Make a cylinder with some of the extra t-shirt fabric to make the Falcon cockpit. Sew the fabric so it's secure. Stuff the inside with fabric scraps to give it heft and fill it out a bit. Feel free to sew inside it a homemade Chewbacca doll, or a tiny LEGO Chewie keychain doll.

7. Sew the cylinder of the cockpit to the side of the neck rest.

8. Now sew on the blue backlight of the Falcon to the back of the neck rest.

9. This is what the final looks like from the back so you can see the final result.

10. After you're finished, go ahead and try it out for yourself. You'll be asleep faster than the Falcon can make the Kessel Run!
